Social Work Education in the Contemporary World: Issues and Challenges 14th to 16th January 2013, Pune, India

Conference Announcement

On the occasion of its Golden Jubilee Year, Karve Institute of Social Service invites you to the International Conference on “Social Work Education in Contemporary World: Issues and Challenges’ on 14th, 15th and 16th January 2013, at Pune, India.

The conference will be a platform for social work educators, practitioners and scholars from social work as well as other disciplines to exchange experiences, thoughts and developments in social work education and practice. These would contribute towards strengthening the inter-disciplinary base and making social work education more relevant and meaningful for the future. There has been a spread of social work education the world over during the past few decades. Each country has developed its own pedagogy and curriculum focus so as to meet the prevailing ideological trends and intervention needs in their own region. The notion of international social work is also increasingly finding global acceptance. The conference seeks to bring together educators and practitioners committed to furthering the relevance of social work education for mutual exchanges and to initiate a global debate. This would help to expand our understanding about contemporary developments in social work education, enrich our outlook and help us carry back ideas for the changes we can bring into professional training in our own institutions or in collaboration with each other.
