The Department of Advanced Professional Training
Social Development and Social Work is a multi-faceted and multi-disciplinary activity which is dynamic and evolving. Professionals in the field of social development are often faced with the challenge of upgrading their competence and orienting themselves to the emerging demands and trends in social work theory, research and practice.
The Department of Advanced Professional Training was started in January 2002. This department organizes demand- based short term courses and capacity building workshops
for the professionals in the field. A few of the courses which the department plans to organize in the near future are in the area of Counselling, Project Design, Project Monitoring, Management of the Field Action Projects and Campaign Strategies.
The Institute also conducts need-based short term courses sponsored by agencies like National Institute of Public Co-Operation and Child Development, National Literacy Mission, Central Social Welfare Board (CSWB), National Institute of Social Defense, Directorate of Women, Child and Handicapped Development, Maharashtra State and other organizations.
